Well, I knew it would happen sooner or later. It's going to be the granparents rocking out to the best era of music. Pretty soon, were going to be a bunch of rockin' out headbanging 70 year olds doing bong hits outside the retirement home. Glad you can relate to your grandmothers music. Just think of all the other music you haven't discovered yet. There is all kinds of wonderful music out there. Well, you take care, and keep on rockin'

Great band - great tunes on all their albums, you should check out some of the other albums as well - songs like "Sylvia's Mother" and "You Make My Pants Want to Get Up and Dance" ...."Only 16"...."A Couple More Years" and many others. The band broke up in the 1980's when they essentially went bankrupt. And, as great as their tunes were on the albums - in concert, they were horrible!!! Still though, one of the great overlooked groups of the late 1960's - 1970's. Lead singer was Ray Sawyer. "Dr. Hook" was Dennis Lacorriere. Both are still recording solo albums occasionally.

Love Em' favorite song I Got Stoned and I Missed It. Remake of a Shel Silverstein song, Sylvia's Mother. Thanks now i'm gonna listen to some Dr. Hook
I was sitting in my basement I just rolled myself a taste
Of something green and gold and glorious to get me through the day
Then my friend yelled through the transom "Grab your coat and get your hat son
There's a nut down on the corner, givin' dollar bills away"
But I laid around a bit
Then I had another hit
Then I rolled myself a bauma
Then I thought about my mama
Then I fooled around, played around
Jacked around a while and then
I got stoned and I missed it
I got stoned and I missed it
I got stoned and it rolled right by
I got stoned and I missed it
I got stoned and I missed it
I got stoned oh me oh my
Now it took seven months of urging just to get that local virgin
With the sweet face up to my place to fool around a bit
Next day she woke up rosy and she snuggled up so cosy
When she asked me how I liked it Lord it hurt me to admit
I was stoned and I missed it
I was stoned and I missed it
I was stoned and it rolled right by
I was stoned and I missed it
I was stoned and I missed it
I was stoned oh me oh my
Now I ain't makin' no excuses for the many things I uses
Just to sweeten my relationships and brighten up my day
But when my earthly race is over and I'm ready for the clover
And they ask me how my life has been I guess I'll have to say
I was stoned and I missed it
I was stoned and I missed it
I was stoned and it rolled right by
I was stoned and I missed it
I was stoned and I missed it
I was stoned oh me oh my

How can you not love Dr. Hook? Unless you are very strange, it is impossible.
