We should be able to speak freely and anytime that we can't it is time to take up arms and fight for our rights back, these people that knock you for asking a question are the members of the repuglican sheep. Who needs them, they are contrary to America.

During the Nixon years .. it was "Love America Or Leave It". And look at how corrupt he was. Ford had to give him a Presidential pardon or he might have ended up in prison. Thomas Jefferson said that every 25 years there should be a revolution or something isn't right with the Country. Today, they have it down to a fine art of just trying to scare people to the point of giving away all their power to the Government. People are like sheep these days. Few protests of any kind .. not like the late 60's and early 70's .. when students cared and protested on campuses. It frightens me how little people are willing to protest, and how much garbage they take at face value from what they hear on TV .. Good Luck ! :)

Are you implying that those who have the opinion that your question was stupid are not real americans? or they shouldn't have the right to express themselves? (Many of them showed their own stupidity when they called you that) - it's not an american thing, it's a human one - may people just don't know how to argue, and when an argument upsets them, they revert to insults. While I think the view you expressed had a lot of holes in it, that didn't make you stupid. However I think it would not be an intelligent thing to develope a persecution complex because people react strongly when you make a provoking comment. Wouldn't you have been disappointed if they hadn't reacted?

Freedom of Speech means you are at liberty to say what you want, not that there is no cost. If you say things that are offensive to people; they will respond by not liking you. That is the nature of free speech. People answered your question, basically with this answer, "we do know the truth and you're a conspiracy nut". They are not on the way to your house with a gun.

Well, has anyone knocked on your door with a gun? You have the right to ask whatever question you want, and we have the right to disagree with you. We even have the right to make whatever judgments about you that we believe are warranted based on what you say. Nobody has harmed you for your voicing your positions.

I think some people don't take this Yahoo Answers thing like a way to help other but as a way to muck at others and have fun without facing any consequences.
You can ask ANYTHING you want, as well as pay attention to whatever you want. If you don't like some answers, just ignore them, or change your question.

You kind of answered your own question. Since you cant ask questions without being accused, America obviously isnt as great as you thought it was.
