The North could have been the good America that respected people's rights, diversity, and science. The South could have just stayed bible-thumpin-racist and scientifically and educationally stunted.

They refuse to pass any tax that would benefit education. Hmmm. STD are highest among retirees, in fact one Florida city has a higher STD rate than the entire city of Miami and that same city is for 55 and older ONLY! Hmmm. Womens death? Retirees? Could there be a connection? Hmmm. The crime rate is higher more recently? Could that be because of a recent influx of immigrants? Hmmm. Teen mother? I notice you failed to mention the abortion rate. Could that be because that rate is substantially higher in Northern state? Hmmm. What is ruining this nation is ignorance such as yours. Hmmm.
