Lookin for a good Used laptop or notebook for research. Anybody upgradin soon?

I am a writer of sorts trying to get a lot of material for these books I have planned out. I also write music and poetry...Mostly Christian oriented. But I have no computer or laptop at all. this is my mothers i come to use it when she is at work and I am off. But there is soooooooooo much to do and soooooooooo little time.

Help?are there any sites to go to for such a search?
