There are too many reasons to put in this posting. One important reason is that people may not really know all the candidates well, so they think that if the person is affiliated with a philosophy (political party) that speaks to them, then they vote for a candidate from that party.

Because parties are made up of people and ideas that are diametrically opposed in their basic views on society and the state of the world. My opposing party's viewpoints are so vile to me that I don't care to hand power to them. So I look for the best candidate who best represents me. Sometimes they do a good job, sometimes I am disappointed. But party dogmas and the pressure that goes onto candidates to follow them precludes many people from receiving my vote based on their party affiliation. I like most independents, but because they are all so different from one another, even that isn't safe. You have to listen carefully.

Primarily because the opposition party has nothing of value to offer the person voting.

It has a lot to do with the fact that most people are sheep. On the bright side????? It doesn't really matter, as long as the Skull and Bones origination is running the show.

They don't know anything else, they don't want to become educated and vote people. Don't give me that core values crap because about half the party doesn't believe in it's core values anymore.

becasue they think that they agree with that party, although they really may disagree in many categories. each candidate should be looked at individually. i don't know what i would have done in 2004 if i could have voted, both candidates sucked.

If you mean like John McCain, I don't get it. He talks like a dem,
walks like a dem, visits the Daily Show, then goes out &
votes republican.
