To be a good one, it has to have a smart script. Good writing is the key. But physical humour that is good, is amazing. Steve Martin in "All of Me" is genius. Jim Carrey, when he is under control can be amazing. A lot of what passes for comedy, particularly romantic comedy, is just not funny to me. But I always laugh at "Airplane" because it is just plain moronic and that's okay.

A film is a comedy if it's intention is to make you laugh. Since there are many different types of comedies (slapstick, romantic, dark comedy), then I think the main characteristic that combines them all is the set-up for the joke.

There are alot of comedy action pictures that make me snort, i'd be right here all night yet heres some: as sturdy because it gets Meet the parents/Meets the Fockers each and all of the Friday action pictures The Sweetest ingredient Very undesirable issues Anger administration The Longest backyard Shallow Grave Thats in basic terms some.
