yes - I let my lawn go for a long time one year, and it attracted field mice & garter snakes - it also attracted the local authorities, who gave me 3 days to either cut the lawn myself or have them have it cut & charge me for the professional landscaping plus a fine - plus the neighbors disliked us even more than usual & told their kids it was okay to be mean to our kid - it's a lot less bother to cut the lawn

I'm with you on that one. I need to mow my lawn, but I don't really want to. I want to know what genius decided that lawns needed to be mowed. I keep hoping some nice person will come in the middle of the night and mow my lawn so I don't have to.
Oooo... We could say we're not mowing the lawn because of the high price of gas. Can't afford to fill the mower, y'know.

I guess you're better off just mowing the lawn yourself. There's no point dreaming about having a ride-on mower when you can't afford it, and a push mower isn't that bad... it's actually good exercise. If you still want your lawn to look good, you should mow it in the first place.

This winter, start thinking about landscaping your lawn towards more perennials - these flowers grow back every year and the more garden you have, the less grass you'll be mowing.
Consult with your local agriculture extension office to find out what grows well in your area and where to get inexpensive plants.
In the meantime, you best get off your computer and go mow.
I've gotta go do the same thing myself!

ask your neighbors how much they would charge if they have time....tell them your situation, and since you are a young, new couple in the neighborhood...who knows maybe someone will know about a used ride on in the neighborhood that the owner is willing to sell or let you borrow(i really don't like to borrow...too much can happen) it., or pay by the week

Mow it with the push mower or go to any neighbour and ask them to lend theirs to you

You can pay some neighborhood kid to do if for you. Post adds at your local post office store or just pop a sign in your yard advertising yard work help wanted.

I think you're going to have to cut it. Shabby yards look terrible. Grass cutting season is almost over!
