Washington's opinion is irrelevent, more importantly, you have to ask what the founders of the country would think of our current situation. Do your history? You think this is what our founders intended? You people and your naive completely uninformed opinions... First of all, all of the people involved in the beginnings of the country were the brightest minds of their time, and they intended that to carry on into the future. But we are far from having the most intelligent running the country (I'm talking about politics in general, not Bush, although he makes a good example), on the countrary we elect people based on how charasmatic they are. It's no more sophisticated than electing a high school class president. Secondly, most of the founders were against politics dissolving into factions. Another word for factions being parties. We have a two party system. Elect this jackass, or the other one. And don't say anything about independents, because that is a joke. Independents could never raise enough money to compete in the campaigning game, and even if they could, people are too stuck in their ways that they vote for their own party no matter what the issues.

Washington would be totally confused in today's time. As to the holding a revolution if he was still alive he would have seen what happened in the Civil War. That was when the Govt. as Washington started it basically ended. I could go on and on about this but I really would prefer to leave it short. The South rose up to defend what they said were their rights from what they said was an unjust Govt. The Govt stood up and won. Now if people feel a Govt. is unjust they remember that and are afraid to stand up like they did in 1861.

He would shake his hand and say,"Thank you George for keeping the hope of freedom alive. God bless you!"
Then he would be sued by the ACLU for invoking the name of God in a public place. Also, the Muslims of the world would go on a rampage because he did not say "Allah be with you!"
Also the Democrat liberals would demand equal time. Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi would hold a news conference condemning Washington and Bush and accuse both men of questioning their patriotism. The liberal press would do their best to cast both men in a negative light. Focus groups would form, polls would be taken....on and on....
Somehow I don't think George Washington would want to leave the comforts of Heaven and visit the 21st Century.

Washington was a Nationalist and an Isolationist. But he was also certainly not above a war. If attacked, he would have responded, just as he did against the English monarchy.

He would be thinking that maybe King George isn't so bad after all. He'd be thinking "with Presidents like Bush, who needs England".

Why don't you ask him?

"Hey George Washington, do you like Bush?"
"Leave me alone!"
"Wait...but you're dead..."
"Oh yeah - right, so leave me alone!"
