...fix stuff around the house, play with tools, etc? Guys, do you like women who like that sort of thing? My girlfriends laugh at me because I have a chainsaw, a jigsaw, a Dremel Tool, assorted otther tools, and because I installed a ceiling fan in every room of my house. A couple of my guy friends are intimidated, but most of them think it's kinda cool. I don't know what the big deal is, myself.

I do that too. I like working with my hands. My boyfriend is never home so I do most of the work around the house. I had to put his deer heads on the wall because he never got around to it. The toilet was broke one day, so I fixed it. When I lived with my parents I would change my own oil in my dads shop he has in our back yard. I would also rotate my own tires. I'm no mechanic, but I could do the simple stuff like that. My tool kit has more tools than my boyfriends tool kit. And he is an electrician.

I love that stuff! My dad gave me a power drill, but the bit was dull. I went and bought myself a whole new set of drill bits and made wind shields (drilled holes and hung acrylic boards) for my moluccan cockatoo's huge cage.I can fix a leaking shower head attachment. I can fix a soda/candy vending machine that doesn't register the money put into it. I can change a spare tire if I had to.

Oh, and my scoring knife is my favorite next to the power drill! The power screwdriver is very
cool too!

I think it's great for women to be handy/self-sufficient! Never mind what your friends say.

I think it's pretty fun to fix stuff around the house. My husband and I just recently finished remodeling our home and I learned how to so all kinds of things. We gutted the house down to the studs. Re-plumbed, re-wired, insulated, sheet rocked, taped and mudded, laid a new hardwood floor and ceramic tile in the bathroom and installed new windows. My husband is really smart when it comes to these things and was a great teacher. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I do small things, hammer, nails, screwdriver. When it comes to fixing the computer-related stuff, it's all me. Putting together unassembled items of any kind... ME. However, I have never used a saw before.... It does look like fun, but I'm not coordinated enough. I'd probably cut my hand off. I think it is cool and very liberating when a woman can do stuff like that.

I have loads of tools and I know how to use them. A lot of times when I try to fix something technical I succeed through pure perseverance not because I see the logic of it all. For other things I have friends who can fix things.

Shoot honey I have three tool boxes and my dad taught me how to do the work myself.I love working on cars you know getting under the hood to see how things work.I know more about cars than my husband does.I don't need men to help me fix something I already know how to do.You go on and be the woman you are and never mind what others think.

No, I am not a fixer. I am a "hire it done, no matter what." i can't do it, and my husband gets too uptight and turns the smallest patch job into a complete foundation redo job with plenty o cussin.

I would love to mess with power tools, I am strong enough to control them, I just lack the education.
