Typically an A gets a 4, a B gets a 3, a C gets a 2, a D gets a 1, and an F gets a 0. So to calculate your GPA you take:

(4(#A's)+3(#B's)+2(#C's)+1(#D's)+0(#F's))/(#courses taken)

This is a rough estimate, since some schools assign different weights to A and A-, for instance. But this is a good enough estimate for your CV, since anywhere you use a CV will want you to have a transcript also.
