Its a way to get coordinates for certaint point on 2D plane, draw a cross in middle of imagined plane (i.e anywhere on sheat of paper). Now you need to have some unit to messure lines (axis) that make your cross. The place where lines cross has value 0, to left from this place of origin are values (that represent directions) -x, to right x, up y, down -y. Coordinates for x axis are given first so, when you are given coordinates you have (x,y) To mark for exemple plot (1, 2) imagine that you are on point 0, now go two units in direction y (up) and then 1 unit in direction x (right) and you'll be in plot (1,2), alternatively, mark distances in your drawing (i.e. -2_-1_0_1_2 for x axis) and imagine two lines crosing marks y2 and x1, they will cross each other at (1,2)

Definition of coordinate plane

It is a plane which every point is identified with exactly 1 number
and vice-versa ; a two dimensional graph.

To draw a coodinate plane you must complete these steps :

Step 1:

Put two perpendicular lines (90 degre) X and Y together
The plot (0,0) is the intersection point of X an Y axes.

Step 2:

Put graduation scale(example: 1 2 3 4 5 etc...) for each axe X
and Y.

Step 3:
In this Step, you can place all plots in the coordinate plane.
Example: Put the plot (2,5 )?

Answer:

First . Just go to right direction on '' X axe'' and you located
the number ''2"".

Second: Just go up on ''Y axe'' and you located the number ''5''.

Third : The intersection of numbers ''2'' and ''5'' is the plot
(2,5)
