This website I posted below says that alcohol free wines contain .5% alcohol! So I would say yes. He is only 11 and he most likely doesn't drink on a regular basis, so that leaves him very sensitive to the effects alcohol can have.

is there any alcohol at all in the wine? like .5%. if so it isn't good for the kid. but what is probably in it is a lot of sugar and that could send the kid into a tail spin. sugar highs can simulate a high of other types and then the crash feels like a hangover.
binging on anything is unhealthy. i won't ask why the binging is happening to begin with. 11 year olds do strange things.

Alcohol free wine has no alcohol. It's regular wine that has had the alcohol removed. But binge drinking or eating ANYTHING is a bad idea. And why would you cultivate a taste for wine in a child?

hi! i'm 20 twelve months previous and that i'm French! a clean regulation substitute into at the instant voted in parliament: you will desire to be 18 to purchase alcohol. (in spite of the indisputable fact that no longer many shops pay interest to the recent regulation) yet once you order wine or beer or any sort of alcohol, your new child can drink it. In France, we do no longer likely pay interest to the ingesting age in any respect, so it relatively is totally different whilst in comparison with how issues are contained in the States. i think it relatively is by using fact we are in a position to in basic termschronic at 18 years previous, for this reason, ingesting at 15 years previous isn't a difficulty. apart from, the indisputable fact that it is not forbidden yet on the choice ALLOWED via the french government does not attraction to little ones while contained in the States underage ingesting is noticeably huge by using fact it potential breaking the regulations. Have a secure holiday there! and revel in our wine!

Nobody can get drunk on a drink that has no alcohol. SUrely it's more sensible to give the eleven-year old real wine in small amounts to promote more sensible drinking?

I would proablly say yes and no. Yes because no 11 year old should be drinking any kind of wine no matter if it has alcohol or no alcohol. No, because if it's really alcohol free then they might get a little dizzy but won't get drunk!

I would imagine that even alcohol free wine has a litle bit of alcohol in it. It's created in the process of making wine. Otherwise it would be called juice. Yeah, I definately thinks it warrants a further look see to be sure.

it's the "alcohol free" that's the give away here. They would be drinking a soft drink. It may make them go to the loo more but would only do harm if they drank gallons. That would be just as true if they drank too much water

This is impossible.
To get drunk, binge or otherwise, alcohol has to be involved and you don't get that in 'alcohol free' booze.
Sorry.
