...a hospital charging people to park there, while they are visiting? I've been at the hospital every day for a week, and every day, the hospital charges me a minimum of $2 to park in their parking deck. It's beyond comprehension.

I didn't say it was $2 a day...

I agree. There should either be free parking available in the lot, or you should be able to get a ticket validation. Why don't you see if the patient's doctor would validate your ticket since they know you are visiting every day. That way, you can still go (which is important), but you don't have to go broke doing it....

I agree. It is beyond comprehension. It's like you have to pay a penalty to visit a sick loved one. It's just another money-making scam. That almighty dollar must be made,no matter who has to pay it.
I don't park in the hospital garages anymore. I park across the street or wherever, and walk to the hospital. It's not right to make people have to pay a "fee" to visit someone in the hospital.

Well I think that is the worst thing I have heard in a while. It's not like your there to have fun or to celebrate. It is hard enough for visitors to park and go inside and visit someone in their family who may be terminally ill or worst dying. Then you have these people demanding $2.00 for you to park while you go inside to visit them.If I were in that community I would get a petition started and see what can be done.Did this hospital give a reason for the stupid fee?

I say that with the prices of everything,we are all going to have to lay down and die at home because you can`t afford to pay the parking lot or the hospital bills!

nothing is free, if you walked to the hospital it would be free. 2 dollars a day is cheap, the airport here charges 12 dollars a day to park in a parking deck.

I can understand shopping centers charging for parking, but hospitals. That's a lot of bull that would be similar to charging people to park at church or a funeral home.

The idea that a hospital can be a profit making corp and still turn people away because they don't ahve adequate insurance coverage just floors me. Can you park farther away and walk?
