it makes it more difficult to expel and its better not to point the liquid straight down the throat because it will make the baby choke

Because it will run down the side of their tounge and trigger them to swollow. If you put it straight in it makes it easier for them to push it back out.

cuz if you shoot it straight in they will gag and most likely spit it all back out. along the cheek drains it in, but also because their tongues aren't in the way to push it back out.
