I have a journalism degree and held two internships. An internship is almost required for this field. If you can't prove that you're a good writer, most companies won't take a chance hiring you. Getting your writing published is the key. Internships are sometimes hard to come by - but keep looking! Get help from the career center at your school. Also, write for your school newspaper - that counts as publication also. Good luck!
