Without flying? Is there a train that goes direct?

(yes this could very well be the stupid question of the day)

You can use the train...but flying is a lot cheaper...about 20 - 30 Euro from Air-Berlin.
Not a stupid question.

Unless you enjoy train travel and have plenty of time (train from Berlin will take around 8 - 10 hrs!) you should get definitely fly! We went from Frankfurt to Paris in June and although I like taking the train it got a bit annoying due to an ignorant ticket conductor that was pretty mean to an american couple with a baby sitting close to us because they didn´t speak a lick of french (yes, I did help after I realized but still - sheesh!). Then 3 out of the 4 toilets were broken, there was no restaurant car and only once a service cart with coffee, drinks and snacks came through... It was a little better on the way back but if I had to do it again I would definitely fly :-D
If you just can´t stand flying, go to www.bahn.de and check out which train you´d prefer, you could go from Berlin to Frankfurt in and ICE which is fun and fast, and from there continue on to another train to Paris without having to change again after that.
There are also bus-trips that might even be cheaper than that - alot of travel agencies will have a 2 day trip to Paris and you can take the bus down there with them.
Hope you enjoy your trip!

I go to Germany every so many yrs. You can take a train to Paris from Europe but usually you have to transfer 1-2 X's. Just like a plane. For more info go to www.railkey .com

No it is not stupid, although you may get some smart a*ss answers, but yes there is a train, and also a bus that is a pretty good ride, for some reason not a big difference in price either!

I'd take the train. Get an opportunity to see what the country looks like.
