If you are enrolled in a teacher training program, you will take classes on many subjects. For example, you must study educational psychology, research methods, subject-area specific teaching methods (depending on what subject and grade you are planning to teach), classroom management, principles of lesson planning, etc.

Depends on your grade level you are gearing toward. I remember taking "School in the Social Setting", which covered the laws applied to teaching and Special Education.
I also remember taking classes geared to teaching Science, Social Studies and Math. I had to take many courses in Reading and English, as that is what I specialize in.
An important course is also Classroom Management, which covers the everyday ins and outs of running a classroom.
