You could put something on it to help ease your sore muscles, like Icy Hot or Biofreeze or BenGay. I do not know your situation, but there are exercises you can do to stretch and strengthen your back. I personally see a chiropractor when I have back problems and he helps me out a lot.

A very subjective question and one that you should not spend time asking us about as none of us can examine you.

Go see your doctor.

It could be a pulled muscle, a herniated disk or any other malady.

In my particular experience, I strained a muscle while trying to pull up tree roots.
The muscle eventually got weaker over time.
Later, while doing some lifting, one of the discs on my backbone ruptured.

I was left with two choices: surgery or physical therapy.
I chose the therapy and have been doing fine since then.

Your case could very well be different.

Don't be stupid: see a professional and find out (1) what is wrong and (2) how to fix it.
