Austin has not really been fired and, although it is true that he isn't feeling very good physically at the moment, Austin is medically fit to wrestle. The 'firing' will give Austin a chance to rest his body and allow the possibility of another boss versus employee feud like the ones Austin has had with Vince McMahon in the past. It was also a good way to get Austin out of the limelight so that the attention could be on Goldberg's debut.

No he's not fired. Stone cold has bad knees and is hard for him to wrestle. He has had several knee surgeries, which is why he has to wear knee braces. He has signed a contract with WWE to do 5 of their movies. The first and only (so far) was the longest yard with Adam Sandler.
