whew, that is a good one. Dogs. Using closely placed rocks to deter them from gettinga good dig going to do their business in. You can be vigilant and watch... and run them off when you see them, but the big problem is they are just so sneaky (yes I said sneaky) by nature, they will return.. also try sprinkling pinecones in and around your garden and under bushes, the more prickly the cones the better. Good luck with your problem.

There are special powders and sprays that you can pick up at a pet store that keeps cats and other animals out of your flower bed. We bought some and it works. I can't remember what it's called, though.

Apparently the cats are treating it like a LITTER BOX.All cats are like like that.Throw together a little playground for them with a little dirt,(loose granule type),something they can move with there paws easily to cover up ther business.

this is a gardeners nightmare,me i would throw all the crap they leave into the owners garden.they just let these pests run day and night and crap everywhere,if they catch a bird and only mark it that bird will die because they are the most diseased pest known to man.all the wonderful plants and animals dying off because of mans greed and these things can create all the havoc they want because no one cares.

Dust the ground with cayenne. Or, sit out there with a supersoaker filled with weak household ammonia. One shot in the old rosebud and they won't be back. And no, I don't think that's cruel - cruel would be shooting for the eyes or the head.
