I know exactly how you feel...it's soooo frustrating. Like you, i'm 41 weeks. I've had serious contractions for the past 3 weeks. I've had membranes swept 3 times, lost my plug and am 3cms dilated....it seems as if this is never going to end. I've been to L&D twice with false labor and the doctor has said that they may have to break my water for me if I get to a 4 and nothing is happening. It sounds like what is happening with you. If your contractions get close together as in 3 mins and go for a couple of hours i'd go to the hospital and let them check it out....don't worry, baby will be here soon....everyday I wish it's today! Good luck.

I have been 1 cm dilated for the past 4 weeks (I am now 39wks 3days along) & lost my plug about 4 days ago ... and I'm waiting for those dag-gone contractions too! And just from experience, your water may not break until labor & even then, the doctor may have to break it for you. Mine never broke with my 2 previous babies - always had to break it during labor. But if it does - that's a sure sign that labor has begun. Otherwise, a low backache, contractions that increase in strength & frequency, diarreah, all of these are signs that labor is starting. I'm waiting for something to happen too!

Yeah me too. I am 1 1/2 cm and lost my plug a week ago today... My doctor says we just wait for contractions 5 min apart or my water to break. I have been in 3 times thinking I was in labor but I never am :( I hate the waiting game.....

some women don't break their water so the doctor do it at the hospital. You have to wait for your contractions to get closer together (which means you are dilating more) You should give your dr a call whenever you feel like you dont know what's going on, so he can guide you and tell you when is a good time to come to the hospital

you'll start to have what they call Braxton Hicks contractions..just a mild cramp feeling..then some women will actually feel the baby drop down a little lower..as they are getting ready for birth...back pain, then your water will break..that is the time you need to call a doctor or go to the hospital. Here is a link to look at if you want to check it out. Good Luck and Congrats early!!

Don't worry! You'll know when it's time, I walked around at 1cm for three weeks before I had my first. Your body might be preparing, but even if you don't go into labor on your own, your doctor will ensure that you and your baby are alright. Don't stress, I know the last few weeks seem like eternity, but it'll happen before you know. Congrats!!!

you dialate to a 10, and if your water has not broke they can break it for you. and you cervix has to thin out. that means go away. and if your 41 weeks your doctor needs to deliver you very soon. good luck
