The first space shuttle was Columbia and it was launched on April 12, 1981. It was created at NASA by many people, not one person.

Wrong everybody, the first shuttle was the Enterprise and it was built in the late seventies, it did not, however, go into space. The first to go into space was Columbia.

First of all...it wasn't "invented." It was designed, built, tested and then was manufactured. There's a difference!
