I'm glad to see someone else wanting books, I know that you can look stuff up on the net but I love books
we have quite a few good books that we've picked up at pet shops over the years, I cant get to them now cause they are boxed up, seems like most are from TFH Publications
Good luck finding a book, study it before you get your turtles

There are several websites that have all the information you need, no need to pay money :P I won't list any specific sites because the dude before me lsited plenty good ones. However, if you need more info, search " 'type of turtle' care sheet" on yahoo, and you'll get a good amount of info. If you're deciding what kind of turtle to get, the most common are Red Eared Sliders, Box Turtles, and Painted Turtles. I would stay away from tortoises since you're a beginner at this, and tortoises seem a little harder to care for, and many live an excess of 100 years. I'm glad you want to learn first and then purchase your pet, unlike most of the dimwits here on Answers ;)

There are several good websites, such as those listed below.
Otherwise, you can try the library. I would not BUY a turtle book if I could look up anything I needed to in a minute.
