last night i got a memory error but i don't remember what it said i didn't click on ok i just closed the box and now i have had to reinstall yahoo messenger and i don't know how to solve the problem should i just take it to a computer repair shop it is an old on a pentium 2

sounds like you have spyware or a virus question do you get alot of pop ups? if you do go to www.ewido.com run the free online scan its on the left side of the screen about halfway down the page. If that doesn't fix it then google avg this is a free antivirus software with free updates. between the 2 you should have much better performance. Also after the above open my computer right click on the c drive choose properties and run checkdisk do not check off the 2 options so it runs instead of after a reboot also defrag after you delete all temp files and cookies

Could be your memory's going bad. Get memtest from dslreports.com and follow the instructions to run it. It may be time to get a new computer.

it depends what the message actually says .....it could be one of several things ...some easy to fix others more difficult ...
