Where I come from, the maximum time allowed is...exactly 0 seconds. If you're on call, you should be somewhere within the hospital, if not in the ward or emergency department itself!

I believe it is 15 minutes, they can call in orders over the phone, but in a true emergency they have 15 minutes to get to you

I don't believe there is any requirement. They have to make a reasonable effort to answer the call in a timely manner but no specifics. One doctor might live accross the street and another in the next community! How could they possibly regulate that?

on call doctors and staff have 30 minutes to get to the hospital from the time a page has been sent. i know this because i am a phlebotomy tech at a local hospital and im oncall every other week

Emergency doctors are already in the ER.
Other than that there is no emergency & it varies.

You can call at anytime. All hospitals are 24/7
