There is very little difference AFAIK. Both countries are affected by religious fundamentalists trying to have their way. Only maybe Pakistan is a little more affected. And of course India is a democracy.

So anyway - my point is that the main difference is in the government etc, if you get down to the level of the common man - there is very little difference.

I am an Indian, currently in the USA and so have a detached view of things. I have met quite a few people from Pakistan - and my grandparents are from Karachi and thats the reason for my point of view.

These are two different countries. Pakistan was created, at the end of British colonial rule in Indian sub-continent, to create a country for muslims, whereas India is a secular country with higher number of muslims than in Pakistan. The cultural values of Indians and Pakistanis are not much different.

Well, there probably wasn't any difference at first but some people got stupid and thought 'this is too normal' let's start a war against a city. Both countries separated fighting over a city that still hasn't been claimed. And now all that fighting has gotten to our parents heads.

So this years generation (youth) are still being told by their parents 'stay away from them their Muslim/Indian' and believe me my counterparts find it very essential to flog down a dead horse - so to speak. Is it my fault, that my best friend has a different religion that I? It's such a hopeless topic, people are never gonna change. Peace, what peace?

Stay safe.

They split ed (Pakistan split ed away from India) after the British colonial rule.

Imagine two brothers turned each other into enemy and now fighting each other just because someone else tell them that they are not brothers. How foolish!
