I've never played one or heard of them before your question. I found some info (see link), it looks like they are a strat knock-off. I attached a link to the Harmony Central user reviews , they can be good tools but take some with a grain of salt - if you see one with ten good reviews but one person is calling it a piece of crap chancesd are that one "guy" is a tool.

Looks like they are decent guitars, but almost all reviewers stated that it needed a good setup and new strings.

well, my boyfriend's always looking into guitars and good deals and he has three and he has never mentioned a bridgecraft to me, and if they were good quality guitars i'm sure he would of mentioned them by now.
i think the type of guitar you get also depends on what kind of music the person plays. you might get a good deal getting a bridgecraft but then the person that receives it might end up having to replace certain parts like pickups etc. because it may not produce that great a sound. i suggest you look at other options before settling on a bridgecraft like checking out ebay, musiciansfriend.com, samash.com
if you can't afford one maybe team up with a friend or something and put your money together.

If you don't want to spend a whole lot than you should try for an Ibanez gig pack. Go to musiciansfriend.com and you'll find it. It comes with a guitar, a bag, picks, the works. Ibanez are the Masters at making guitars so that would be your best bet. Of course this is all just one persons opinion. Other decent "cheap" brands are Peavey and Silvertone... Notice I said cheap.
