i dont. i do too. it is so much easier than typing the whole word. its not like this is some report that u need to spell perfectly!

I think it's because the people getting upset are older. To older people it makes you look less intelligent and lazy because you either can't or won't spell the words correctly. It's mostly a generational thing, but technically it is wrong to spell that way. Personally it drives me crazy, but I don't get mad, I just ignore it for the most part.

They consider that 2 b lazy, but I don't mind I luv abbreviations, keeps short, sweet, and 2 the point.

I get angry about such things because I hate the decline in the standard of spelling and grammar these days. I love our beautiful English language and feel bad that people don't take pride in the way in which they speak and write.

Because it's lazy, fine for talking to indivduals on MSN or whatever but it annoys many people on sites like this, take the time to write properly.

I think it depends on how often you use them. One or 2 in a sentence is OK, more than that sometimes makes it very difficult to read and understand.
