Probably the Prius or Hybrid Civic. Every time you brake, like in city driving, it stores the electrical energy from that for fuel. It gets better mileage in the city than highway because you brake more.

City or Highway? How much you drive of either will affect your answer. The Prius is a hybrid that gets great mileage... unless you use it mainly for city driving (it's designed for efficient highway travel), or use it on freeways that are often clogged.

Use Google to search on "gas mileage" and you'll get some good hits that can give you the answer you seek...

....Scion, or if you are looking for a cheap way to go far for less then a motorcycle... Just not the toyota pryus. VW Lupo gets arround 50MPG.
