It should drop in without mods, as far as I know...if you are having it installed be prepared for some labor charges; I'd estimate most of a grand.
Assuming your old engine was a V8, I think you can still use the stock tranny.

Hope this helped

Yes you could use the motor. But you will need a new transmission, rear end, driveshaft and computer as well. Keep in mind that Chevy didn't design the drivetrain to be able to handle that much power. Good luck, if you can make this happen you'd have one sweet Camaro.

After reading the above responses I have something else to add. I had a 95 Z28 with lots of mods and my rear end broke at roughly 60k. So you really don't want to replace your rear-end with one my a Z28. You'll need a GM 10 bolt or a Ford 9 inch if you want to be safe.

the Base camaro has a V6 I am assuming the zz4 is a V8 if its the engine I think it is its about 350 hp. you would be able to bolt it in but the rear axle wont last long. You would need to put in the borgue warner axle from a Z28. If you have the 5 speed manual transmission it probably wont handle the torque ether. If you have an Automatic transmission you should be OK there. You will need the bigger radiator from a Z28 to keep it cool.
why not just trade it in on a Z28 ?

What size is the motor that you are putting in the Camaro? I would put a LS6 in it. But that will take some time. You should have a professional put a big-block form a small block compartment.

If your car is a 6 forget it. 2000 dollars and real headaches. Trans, rear, wireing. a big mess. buy what you want Z 28.

Yes, and everything will be fine. As long as you don't burden the drivetrain with drag slicks.
