LOL ! I said that to a friend the other day. !
We were talking about the way kids are today, and I found myself saying " what's the matter with kids today ? "
That's a saying that my grandparents probably said !!!
I also find myself with the same facial expressions, and other actions.
Yes it does happen !!! YOU TURN INTO YOUR PARENT !!!!!!
AWWWWRRRRRGGGGGGG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not really.I've turned out to be quite different from them in many ways. For instance, our views on discipline are different. My parents are very old-fashioned,and believed that a smack on the bottom when warranted was good discipline.I,on the other hand, used the time-out method. Now,don't get me wrong.I WAS NOT abused as a child. Some parents believe that smacking, not hitting,a child is the thing to do,while others take a different approach(.Spare the rod, spoil the child.)I believe it's all in how the discipline is meted out.
Another example is that my parents never really told me what to do.They always let me make my own decisions about certain things. They trusted me and my judgement, and if I made mistakes,I learned from them, and they were always there to support me.I,on the other hand, would rather tell my kids if I think they are making a misake, because I want to spare them any undo pain.I want them to learn from the mistakes I made, and not make the same mistakes.Of course,I can't always shelter them, but I do my best.

Well, Yes, U R damn right, I realises what U R refering & followed what U trying to convey. It happens, yes I feel so, a little resemblances of Mom or Dad, if not in entirely. Difficult to realise it by an average ppl, huh . Thanks.

My wife has been reminding me over the years that I am very much like my mother in terms of reacting to situations, as well as having inherited her (my mother's) condecending attitude and lack of patience when the fist try fails.

I have to work on these traits to avoid becoming a bitter old man!

Cheers!

Actually, I've been actively working against turning into them. My folks are not happy people, or kind people. I don't want to be that.

I've always known that I'm just like my mother. It just took me a long time to admit it. We used to clash because we're so much alike.

Hopefully not. There doesn't seem to be any joy in their lives. Responsibility seems more important to me now but their attitudes and lifestyles - I hope I don't go there.
