Savings bonds or T. bills. that way when she is older and they mature you she can cash them in for a car, college, etc..

How about a crib medal and maybe a teddy that has the bapismal symbols on it?
Crib medals come in blue and pink and they tie onto the bed.
You could also take the family out for a meal after the ceremony and it is traditional that the godparents buy the christening outfit.
