Because their greatest days in their history were under the leadership of Saladin in the Crusades, and they have never moved on. They still keep hoping for another great victory. They are still fighting the crusades which is why they can't EVER stop talking about it and call any defense or retaliation against them a "crusade" . GET OVER IT PEOPLE! They love death and violence and think that it's socially appropriate. If we reacted with rioting every time they offended us, we would never sleep! Their culture loves and rewards hate. That is what their own words and actions have proven to the world for centuries. This is nothing new! And it isn't going to change any time soon.

Islam is the religion. Those that practice Islam are Muslims. For the most part Muslins are not radical extremist, but those that are choose to use horrific means to get their point across.

Pure Islam does not condone what has been done on the terrorist level. The Karan is very clear on how a Muslim is to treat other people. Any deviation from those rules have dire consequences.

The Muslims that did not agree with what was occurring with the radical sects had their hands tied. We would not ask any other group of people to defend the acts of a few in their religious group, but we have no problem demanding it of the Nation of Islam. When they did speak up, people accused them of doing too little to late.

If someone in your family killed someone, even if they said that your religion gave them the right to do it, would it be fair to charge you with the crime?

After 9/11 there were a lot of people of Arabic and sometimes Indian decent, both young and old, that were severly harassed and sometimes to the point of death.

The Muslims believe that Jesus was a Prophet, not the Son of God. They believe that Muhammed was a Prophet of God. That God gave him the ability the read and write, when he could not prior to his vision. The Karan are those things that God showed to Muhammed. They believe that those that do not share this belief are Infidels. Some are very accepting of people with differing views. Some, the more extreme, are not.

Right after 9/11my son organized a group called, K.A.T.(KidsAgainstTerrorism) we had a chance to work closely with the local Mosque. After several weeks of working with them, I was given a very high honor, I was called a true believer by their Iman (high priest for lack of a better word), even though I never once strayed from my Christian background.

Also keep in mind that most of the men that flew the planes on 9/11 were from Egypt, not the countries that we are at war with. How would that make you feel?

Don't fall into the trap of judging many by the acts, no matter how horrific, of the few.

Firstly there is no such thing as "the islam". Islam is the religion, muslims or Islamics are people who practice it.

They aren't over sensitive and don't react violently. The word Islam means peace, but there are a few people who have twisted the religion and are using it for their own ends. These people could not be called Muslims in the same way that George Bush can't be called a Christian.

A select few people... like the people who rioted over those stupid cartoons. Why, there was hardly anybody out there. Just a couple of people, really, when you look at it. Not enough to really even make a difference. Extremists.

it's a mixture of inferiority complex and a huge need for honor. the feeling that Muslims are not up to the glory promised to them makes them more sensitive to any slight, real or imaginary.

It's because the extremists speak for the entire Muslim population while the rest of the 99% sit there in silence!!!

It's a teenage thing. They're acting out.

Islam is just entering its thirteen century old. So, like all teenagers, it's acting out, taking offense at every little thing, being rebellious. Compare Christianity during its teenage years -- Crusades, Dark Ages, Inquisitions, etc. Common teenage behavior.

Most of our problems with the Muslim world stem from our own greed. In 1953 Iran wanted to nationalize the oil industry but the Brits had a company there called the Anglo Iranian oil co. that had interests in the oil. They were offered money for their interests but turned it down. Truman did not interfere but when Eisenhower got in they were able to convince him that Iran was in danger of allying with the Russians so with the aid of British and American intelligence they brought the shah to full power. The shah eventually became a brutal dictator but the people revolted and replaced him. This also led to the invasion by students of our embassy there. My point in telling you this is that in many ways we are responsible for the hate against us.
Reagan did nothing to try to sooth relations and in fact encouraged Saddam Hussein in his war with Iran. So you can blame who you wish, but to me it seems we got ourselves into this quandary and the best course of action would be to admit past mistakes and try for better relations. I really don't buy the fact that most Muslim nations really don't want peace with us. They know they would be annihilated if they were to seriously damage this country say with a nuclear or biological attack.

Because they feel they're the only ones who should act out in violence. If you ask me, I think they're a bunch of temper-tantrum throwing infants.
