It is a commercialized frenzy of gift exchanging and the religous meaning behind the holiday gets lost in the shuffle.
I am a scrooge. I love the idea of what Christmas could be but it is just too stressfull and expensive.
At least it was in the past, this year I am slowing it way down and I am going to have a more old fashioned, joy to the world type Christmas.

Christmas is the best. I love T-day, best Christmas still rocks, and I'm a dad now. It is so ridiculos to hear these adults on here talk about the money and stress and so one. Ridiculous. Learn to enjoy it somehow, if you can't enjoy Christmas, how do you make it through the year. Sounds like someone took "grow-up" to far.

I love Christmas and what it means!!! I just think it has all been blown out of proportion - it has become a money game and who can spend the most and worry about paying for it later - that is why there are so many people filing bankrupt the following year! Christmas is for children!

Christmas needs to take Christmas back. This Happy Holidays crap has to go away as well. It's always been Christmas for over 2000 years right?

Shopping for everyone and listening to Christmas carols makes Christmas very exciting. I love Christmas.

I think the Christian God would be truly ashamed of how selfish and idolatrous his people have become at the time of year that we "celebrate" His birth. Starting last year, I decided to stay away from all of the shameful commercialization, and I had the FedEx Santa give all of my gifts while protected by the safety of my computer chair. It was the best Christmas I have spent in nine years!!

It's almost a non-existent holiday that is so commercialized it is almost unrecognizable!
Of course, that's the way with all holidays, anymore! If anyone doubts this, ask a child the meaning of Christmas, 4th of July, Easter, etc. & you will most likely get the same answer..... presents, fireworks, candy & the Easter bunny, etc.
Our children are missing out in a big way, & it is a real shame!

As long as you realize that Christmas is nothing more than a holiday created, fostered and exploited by retail companies, you'll be fine.
Santa Clause has absolutely nothing to do with the birth of christ.
Buying presents has nothing to do with the birth of christ.
Beating the ever lovin' crap out of some stranger at Wal-Mart over the last "Tickle Me Elmo" doll has nothing to do with the birth of christ.
So... thats what I think of christmas.

In addition to celebrating the birth of Christ, it gives me the opportunity to show my appreciation to those I love by bringing out my giving nature. I must try to remember to keep this spirit alive the rest of the year, as well.
