Leaving out the obvious (someone who thinks they are better looking than everyone else) - to me the definition of conceited is someone who can't be bothered to listen to my opinions (or wait for my response to a question). Someone who doesn't bother with the little compliments, the smiles of greeting, and the genial hello when passing someone in the hallway. Someone who never apologizes even when they know they are (or were) wrong.

Someone who truly thinks elated things about themselves to hurt others instead of just trying to help out their self-esteem. There is no reason to pull others down around you, if you are feeling good about yourself.

Basically, that person is saying "it's me, it's all me, it's all about me and I don't care who I may step on to keep it that way." If it's any of the those, then you got one.

Some one who has a very exaggerated opinion of themselves, they think entirely too much of themselves. Very vain.
