any of u heard urban legends about the above? my friend told me to wash by hand, dont wash for 5-6months after buying a new pair etc...?

ONe Urban legend
Claim: The purchaser of a new pair of shrink-to-fit jeans attempted to achieve the perfect skin-tight size by wearing them while soaking in a bathtub and was killed by the crushing force of the constricted pants.
Status: False.
There was also a show on once I think House, where a kid bought a pair of jeans from the back of some guys truck. He stored pesticide there and it tainted the jeans and made the boy deathly sick. Other than that I don't know.

I love my Levis, but I haven't heard any urban legends about the company. I would recommend washing your pants inside-out in the delicate cycle with Woolite or Cheer for dark laundry. I usually add fabric softner too.

Some advice your friend is giving you is accurate. If your not into hand washing, than wash them in cold with other jeans the same color. Crease them put on hanger, and let dry in bathroom.

I think you ever told you that must hate doing laundry. I would wash any thing I bought before wearing.You don't want them to stand up by themselves do you. That is so gross. Can you imagine wearing them for that lenghth of time before washing. I know I can;t. Please do your self a favor and through them in the washer. It won't hurt them. Good luck with your new jeans.

I have worn them all of my life and never heard of any legend. You will be fine whether or not you wash them in the machine or by hand. What is the story anyway? :)

I have heard this, but please wash your jeans. Have you ever washed jeans by hand? This is not a pleasant task. Also...they will be stiff as a board when you put them on.
