Just don't look at it. His belly button isn't the thing that should matter in any relationship. If you are going to make a big deal out of something like that, then I wonder about you.

go out and get comfortable with him and after some time in a good-natured way, make some joke about his bellybutton.. dont get him ashamed of it, be subtle

yes you should go for him, if you really like him and he likes you, looks SHOULD NOT matter, all that matters is whats inside, at least thats how i was raised .
