Why do all these women on here ask if they are pregnant? Why don't they just take a pregnancy test or see a doctor?

Actually, this is a great forum for questions about what is normal and what is not. If you're unmarried (and probably if you are married), you don't really want to go buy a pregnancy test and risk being seen--or waste that money.
There isn't a whole lot of information for women as to what is normal and what is not. There is not a whole lot of information as to what happens during pregnancy because it is so different for everyone. Coming on here and asking, "Is this normal? Should I be checked?" can save a lot of embarrassment and money.

My favorite part of Yahoo Answers is when an individual turns to the world for feedback on something that concerns them. Or maybe it's the part where people reach out to be helpful. Asking if they're pregnant is a way, way more meaningful question than what celebrity do you hate or what TV show do you like.

lol! I suppose we could blame that on the pregnancy hormones? No, I'm sure it's just curiosity, and a bit of subconscious bragging :) It's okay! I'm sure it'll continue, and even after their questions have been answered, they will take an at home test and/or see a doctor.

I agree when for $10 you can go to the store and get a test that is quite accurate. Maybe because they are minors and don't want anyone to know what is happening and think that if they go to the store someone will see them and tell their parents.

Many women seek the support of others and crave their knowledge, which is the way that they deal with either the stress of joy of a "maybe" pregnancy. They want the support from those with knowlege to ease their worries or highten their excitement.

Well, because some are scared to, cannot afford to, are just looking for someone elses opinion, may be young girls, etc!
