Think of the long term...."What do you see yourself doing in 5 years?? In 10 years????

If you see yourself actually working at a job, then invest in a service business that will be something you like to do. Examples:

Like to cook....open a restaurant

Like to organize and clean....open a Personal Organizer business

Like to grow things?.....Open a nursery.

Love kids or pets? Open a daycare or a doggy daycare.

Love printing and publishing....start a magazine or newspaper.

If you see yourself as more of a manager/absentee owner then open a business that will require less of your participation.
-invest in small town apartment complexes and houses.
-start a small auto or motorcycle dealership.
-start a small contracting company

Here is the BEST SITE for new businesses....and it is free. They are not trying to sell you anything...beware of rip-offs!

Choose something you like to do. You may have to be involved 7 days a week 8 to 12 hours a day. Or sell products you like or have an interest in. It's like working except it is yours, since you have a choice do what you like or sell what you like. The problem sometimes is finding something you like that translates into a business.
How to start: depends on what you choose.
What to plan: depends on your choice. Find a mentor to help you, someone you trust.

Trust me I have pondering that for years. I finally realized it recently, working in real estate investment and helping others with their business.

Good luck

My company which is based in the US and just expanded internationally is in it's 6th year of business. This provides for much less of an investment in time that starting from scratch would required. If you would like to have more information, contact me.

You could start an online business! Try http://wholesale.50webs.org/ for dropshippers. You only have to pay the supplier if your product sells! Or http://tinyurl.com/na3r8 to get supplies to set up a dollar store
