just be happy you're in CA. i'm momentarily stuck in OR with very "reserved" folks who are making me nauseous with their endless discussions of the weather and what's the best lawn "food". ;-)

Is the great america theme park in san jose still there? are you close enough to go ride a coaster. Or are you close to take him to a ball game, giants, a's, stanford stadium. Or just go up to the bay and watch the boats, take a strool and grab a meal. good luck.
