If Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman couldn't have children, how come Tom has had a child and Nicole is pregnant?

Tom and Nicole could not conceive whilst they were together, so they adopted.... Tom has now had Suri and Nicole is pregnant...please explain?

for those of you questioning the fact that toms suris dad is out of order
maybe tom n nicole couldnt conceive together doesnt mean theres something wrong just not mixing right together it happens sometimes
toms obviously happy now n so is nicole so what does it metter now anyhow

It happens occasionally that a man and a woman, though both of them are fertile, cannot have children together because of some kind of genetic incompatibility, like incompatibility in blood types. For example, if Nicole has an Rh negative blood type and Tom's is posivite. (I'm not a doctor, though, and it's possible that this particular incompatibility is not as dangerous now as it used to be, but there can be similar causes for their incompatibility.)

Slightly off-topic but interesting: under Rabbinic law in ancient times divorce was compulsory if a couple had no children born to them in the 10 years following their marriage. They could then marry to others. It seems ancient cultures often knew things that modern science proved true thousands of years later.

Tom and Nicole never said they could not have children, it is possible for people to find it hard to conceive if both fertility problems. They chose to adopt and it appears there problems were there own as they have managed to conceive outside there own relationship.

It sounds weird, but it could be an incompatability between the two of them.

It happened to some friends of mine. My mate said she was told that either her or her husband would probably be fine making babies with another partner, but that it just didn't work for them as a couple. His sperm count was fine, her eggs were fine, there was no real reason.

They eventually had IVF and now have 3 fantastic children (triplets)

Interestingly, they have since got divorced - I always wondered what she saw in him anyway!! Perhaps not being able to fall pregnant as a couple (when there was no particular reason why) was natures way of telling them that they shouldn't be a couple!! It happened that way for Cruise and Kidman too.

Because Tom was told not to by his Scientology masters, until he found a woman who matched their requirements. I'm still not convinced Suri is their actual child. Scientologists believe that red hair is evidence of alien DNA, and therefore Nicole was not suitable to carry a Scientologist baby. Freaks all.

Because genetically they were not a match... her eggs could have been intolerant of his sperm... or his sperm could have died inside the vaginal area, caused by the antibodies or another form of her own bodies defences... it happens!

My second husband and his wife adopted twice, he had low sperm count, she, I do not know about... we had two children together, the first almost instantly.

My friend adopted after 16 childless years, then got pregnant... had a healthy boy, now a man... they were not ready while she was stressed and desperate, when she wasn't, bingo:-)

Some news outlets reported that Kidman was approximately three months pregnant when Cruise filed for divorce; she subsequently suffered a miscarriage of their child.

Some couples although rare are not genetically compatible and they just might not have been able to conceive together however with a different partner it was OK. Not sure on the medical side of this or what it is called but I do know it exists.

It was reported that when they divorced Nicole was pregnant and had a miscarriage around that time. I don't know if it was Tom's baby.
He didn't procreated while married to Mimi Rogers and now Mimi has kids of her own.
