you can start by leading your high school team to your state championship and do all those crazy stuff like doing killer cross-over moves, burying triples from NBA range and dunking on everybody else... that way, major colleges will aggressively recruit you and it will just give you more exposure to a lot of NBA scouts... these NBA scouts are very quick to notice potential prospects and they have very good judgement as far as talent is concerned... the question is, ARE YOU GOOD ENOUGH?

You need to play as a part of your team and not an individual. Nearly every year in college, the national scoring leader is never drafted in to the NBA because that is all they can do.

Playing basketball is more then just scoring. Defense is just as integral as offense and the better you can be at both, the better your options will be.

However, don't bank on being 7'0" because you are 6' tall now. When I was 11 years old, I was 5' 10". I am now 6' 0". While I played center in parks and rec leagues when I was younger, now I would be considered a small point guard.

The coaches you will have over the years will probably want you to do things that you dont think are the best for you. Remember, these guys have been around the game probably longer then you have been alive, so listen to them and you will have a better chance to succeed.

While less then 1% of HS ballers make the NBA, there is an important step in between and that is college. If your hoops skills are good enough to land you a 4 year scholarship, make use of it and get a good degree while you continue to play ball.

About 5 years ago, Michigan State recruited what some scouts considered the #1 player in the country in SG Kelvin Torbert from Flint, MI. If Torbert would have gone straight to the pros, he may have been a 1st round pick because of his supposed talent. While he had a decent career at MSU, he didnt develop a DECENT jumper until his senior year. He would have been a colossal flop in the NBA because all he could do was dunk. Yes, he was a high flyer, but he didnt play any Defense until he got to MSU and he was a much better athlete then everyone else in HS, which over-valued his skills because he scored in the upper 20's in HS.

Since he graduated 2 years ago from State, he has a good education to fall back on in whatever he wants to do. Is he the successful NBA player he thought he would be 7 years ago. No, but he has the education to last him a life time.

Good luck and I hope the best for your future, but don't put your future solely in basketball. For every LeBron James or KG, there are 3 or 4 Korleone Young's that never made it after the jump from HS to the Pros.

You are not that big, get over it. The NBA should be the last thing on your mind. I'm not hating but lets be honest: 30 NBA teams with a roster of 15 for each team. 450 players in the entire NBA out of 6 billion people on earth. The chances are pretty slim. Work hard and hope that maybe you can score an athletic scholarship to a good university and get a good degree. Sorry man-I"m not trying to hate but baby steps homie, baby steps.

First of all you need talent more than height, 6ft at 13 is not a huge spurt, you just had your spurt early and will be caught, I was 5,7 @ 13 an am 6'9 now, my buddy was 6'1 at 13 and is now 6'3, you never know, if you do make it, make sure you coach contact college scouts and you make videos.. GOOD LUCK

First of all just work out hard as hell every day. Take 1000 shots a day and run 3 miles a day. DO 200 PUSH UPS a day and have tons of confidence, trust me you will be head and hills above everybody.
