because my wife says she wants me to start shaving my gotee. I think it looks good but she says it makes me look like an idiot. I've been married to her for 5 years and we have a son. I just want to dump her and move outta state over this, it makes me so mad! What kinda things do I have to do to get this taken care of, and any advice or opinions would be appreciated.

I guess your reason for divorce is definitely not the worst nor the stupidest Ive ever heard, but it is unique. I have this feeling this isnt the main cause for wanting out but the last straw. You just need to sit down possibly with a paralegal, cheaper than an atty, and work things out as the judges love it too. Chances are your wife will get custody of your son, the house and child and possible spousal support. File it in court, shell be served within 72 hours and a date will be set for court, and the rest will be decided. Basic divorce 101. Good luck

How dare she! Alright, I'm kidding. This is pretty juvenille and a little far fetched. If you are seriously considering divorce (which I doubt), you need to re-evaluate the situation. Nobody divorces, packs up and moves out of state abandoning a child after five years of marriage over facial hair. Lay it on the line for her. Tell her this is who you are, she did not marry an "idiot", and you can accept the fact that she is not fond of it as long as she can accept the faults you find in her.

I'm no psychiatrist but if your ready to leave your wife and son over something like facial hair maybe there is a deeper problem that needs to be addressed. Good Luck! P.s As a wife, my guess is if she tells you it makes you look like an idiot then that is a very distinct possibility.

Divorce...face it...the gotee is not the real issue here...I mean c'mon if two people are truly, deeply in love with another they aren't going to split over some facial hair. You two have problems that run deeper....Good luck in the future.

Shave your gotee. In my opinion, it makes a person look shifty and untrustworthy. Also, like a slacker type. You had it for years, make a change already.

Grow up. If you want a divorce over your goatee, then you need to figure out if you were mature enough to wed in the first place.
And, guys look ridiculous with facial hair, especially as they age. Just FYI. Almost any wife or girlfriend would ask you to get rid of it. I say shave it off.

It is evident that you don't love your wife, this is just a poor excuse to leave her. Marriage is a partnership of give & take. So either grow up and make sacrifices, I am sure there are things she sacrifices for you.. Or just leave & don't come back. Your son will be better off without you as a role model.

Are you sure there's not more going on? Have you shared how this makes you feel with your wife? Before you decide on a divorce make sure you've exhausted every option to make your marriage work, especially since there's a child involved. I would suggest family counseling to get to the real reason you feel divorce is the only option to resolve this issue. good luck
