Plus, my aunt told me yesterday, a woman at Chestnut Hill Hospital in Phila, PA gave birth to a TWENTY ONE POUND baby. It hasn't hit the net yet, but I know it will soon. What in the hell are these people eating to give birth to flippin toddlers...no, screw that, kindergardeners? I know GD can make babies large, and a few isolated giants have been born elsewhere, but it seems Americans are giving birth to obsese children left and right, born with a bucket of KFC extra crispy and a handful of butter. No one even bats an eye at a 10 pounder anymore, and that was considered huge back when I was a kid. That's normal now. Did I miss my free human growth hormone injection or something? No one sent us the memo.

Watch the video to see how this monster stacks up to even a 8lb newborn. He looks like he can eat them for lunch, and drink their Enfamil to wash them down.

I'm a 27 year old mother of five and all of my children were small. my biggest was 6lb 4 oz, my smallest was 4lb 8oz all were full term baby's. Every time I had one the nurses all commented that my due date had to be wrong, how they hadden seen one that small in a year. With my second child (the smallest) I got very upset at the way I was being treated by the staff and I made sure everyone knew about it too. I am very small myself (4'11") but I have seen women alittle bigger then me give birth to 10 and 11 lb. baby's and I can't figure out how they carried they to full term. I can't believe that the standers of a normal baby born are 9lbs. or more and if you don't have one that big they say it's premature. My kids could fit into newborn cloths until they were 3 monthsold.

My daughter was born 3 weeks early and she weighed only 6 lbs.
Every single person including my doctor, all the nurses and even the ultrasound technician made me feel so terrible by telling me atleast a million times that my baby is a very tiny baby.
All my friends ,relatives and even strangers were quick to say how small my baby girl was. I felt I had committed a crime and that I was a terrible mother. Is a 6 pound baby really soooooooo tiny.
I really took some time to make myself understand that its not my fault and that I had done they best to have a healthy and happy baby .
My daughter is now 5 months old and is a very very happy baby with a wonderful attitude and happy temperament.
She now weighs 15 lbs and is developing well.
I really dont understand why everybody nowadays is obbessed with BIG.

I will have you know that not ALL children that are born big are due to people eating things like KFC or growth hormones or anything like that. I have two children and they were both born big..one was 9lbs 3 oz and the other was 8lbs 10oz. The only reason they were that big when they were born was they were both two weeks overdue. I am not overweight and I don't eat much fast food...maybe once a month, if that. I know there are ALOT of overweight Americans and their children too, but please don't categorize EVERY American that gives birth to a big baby as obese because this just isn't the case.

I don't know about a 21 pounder but a lot of babies are born weighing more and more because of the mother's diet.My doctor explained to me that in the 9th month is when the baby actually "gains" weight according to what the mom eats.If the mom eats high fat foods the baby gains.Another reason to eat healthy.

Lately it does seem like it. But most babies are born that big cause of fertility drugs, and hormonal genes My son was born 6 lbs even. To me this is normal since most in my family was born at least 6 or 7 lbs.

America is the most obese country. Enough said.
I think that Americans should really take a look at the way we live our lives and start to change for the better.

First of all.....This country is obsessed with being rail thin , but super sizes everything. We over indulge in almost everything here. We eat too much, too many restaurants...too much of everything....And like my doctor said a great misconception for expecting mothers is that they have to eat so much for the baby. Yes you will need to increase your intake of food, but no need to go over board.
