Congratulations for being a dad. So many men don't even try after their relationship with the mother ends. If you think it is fun with a 6 month old wait until she starts walking and talking. It is such a joy to experience little things like looking at planes or bugs with young children.

No I cant think of a better way. A child can be the biggest joy in your life. Just remember as she gets older she is not just a little kid. She is just like an adult with feelings and emotions and opinions! Most people tend to think that their child has no opinion worth hearing because they are kids. Listen to your child even at frusterating times and there will be ;) and you will see what their opinions are and even if you dont agree with them you should still try to understand them. Try to remember that when she is saying no I am not going to do whatever! LOL No matter what you can always learn from a child simple pleasure of seeing a flower for the first time. Or a bug! Enjoy while you can because soon they grow up and want to strike out into the world on their own!

Your post really made me smile remembering when my guys were that age. I don't think there is anything better than spending the day with your child and last week, I got 2 days with my 19 yr. old who has moved away for school. It's as sweet and wonderous as it was when he was 6 months old :-)
My very favourite age for my kids was whatever age they were at. When they were 2 and discovering the world, I didn't think it could possibly be better than that and then they'd be 3 and asking questions or 5 and getting brave and exploring the world. My youngest is 14 and just started high school and it's amazing to see him grow up.
You're in for a great ride with your little girl... it's nice to see you're appreciating it!

I think that was beautiful of you to write that about her. Yes unfortunately you only have her every other weekend but its the quality of time that is spent with her and as she gets older she will treasure those times spent with you. I cant imagine anything better than spending the time you have with her and enjoying every second of it. Your be a great dad and she will appreciate it in the long run. I have 2 kids and one grandchild that is the same age and I wish I could spend all day with him. Unfortunately for me he lives in another state. Good luck and god bless.

Sorry to hear about the divorce.
But spending time with your child is a beautiful thing. To be able to look into their eyes and see that they are a part of you, something you helped create is an awesome thing.
I remember those days with my little girl. She's not so little now. And at 15 I can still smile when I just see her face.

I'm a SAHM (ok I work part time on most weekends). I love my daughter and cherish every minute I can be with her. In fact, there are times when she takes a really long nap I start to miss her. Babies are great aren't they!
