I had surgery 9 years ago and was prescribed Valium for sleep. It actually made me so wired that I was having 30-second nightmares as soon as my eyes dropped closed. My pharmacist recommended stopping the drug and described the reaction I was having as a "paradoxical side-effect" of the medication.

Its not the valium that has made you nervous, but the very thought of being in the clinic for the tests must have made you nervous.

not usually...im on a benzodiazopine called attivan (same family as valium for the most part) usually if theres any adverse affect, its just that it doesnt work. However, these type drugs are known over time to be less effective,,,maybe you need your dosage upped so that it will work more effectively...talk to your doc.

How long ago did you take it? It takes at least 30 min to kick in. You will be fine. BUT Once it kicks in you can get very tired and in some cases it does knock you out so make sure you have someone to drive you.

It is supposed to calm you but you are probably nervous about the test. You should have probably had 10 mg. Chill out.....you will be fine!

Really you need to go see a psychologist about your anxiety. They will be able to determine what dosage would be good for you. They can also monitor your reactions to the medication and help you deal with anxiety in a healthy way.

Wait for a while it is going to make you very sleepy and your body is going to weigh like 35 pounds more.
