I just had my doc appt. yesterday and am 24wks days. He said I was doing "awesome" and my uterus is obvioulsy growing normaly from the touch test he did. But, my stomach isn't very big. When people hear I'm 6months they look at me like I'm a liar. And then I start to worry that there's not enough room in there for him. The nurse said I looked good and some women look like me that are ready to give birth. How do I stop worrying. He moves all the time and I'm gaining weight too. 1st pregnancy

Listen to your doc...he is legally bound NOT to lie to you and inform you of any complications that may be occuring. The most desirable weight for neo-nates is 6-8lbs. anything larger than that can = complications for you and the baby. You will appreciate a smaller baby when it comes to delivery time, trust me! Plus, stressing yourself out is not good for your baby because you are sharing all those stress hormones w/ him/her. Just relax and be aware of your baby's movement, if for some reason the baby stops moving for an extended period of time--go to the doc. Anyways, congratulations and good luck!!!

What the Dr is referring to is the size of your uterus by current months or weeks you should be at current parts of the stomach but that doesn't mean your stomach should be big. Some woman gain weight differently in pregnancies and as long as your not underweight you should be happy because your gaining weight in a reasonable way. Good luck and congratulation on the baby.

My mom had 4 wonderfully normal pregnancies and never had to wear maternity clothes. We were all healthy but at 9 months, she was wearing her normal clothing with just the top button of her pants open.
I looked like I'd swallowed a VW bug at 3 months for both my pregnancies and my guys were healthy also.

Listen to your doctor and nurse :-) Your normal isn't going to be the same as other people's normal. The important thing is that your uterus is in the right shape and your baby is bouncing.

"How do I stop worrying."
I can't help you with that question since I don't think I stopped worrying about one thing or another during my own first pregnancy. I think that is "normal"

Well...apparently you're one of the lucky ones!! I'm lucky too...with all of my pregnancies, this is my 3rd and i'm 6 days overdue i've always been really small. I've had the same looks when I tell people that i'm due any day. Your body will be more than accomodating for your baby so don't worry. Some people carry their babies more in the back so it makes you look smaller. My 2nd child was a whopping 9lbs and everyone predicted she'd be around 7!! Enjoy your pregnancy.

you're fine.
with my first and only. I am 5'5" and 105 lbs. I gained fifty lbs during the pregnancy.. but it was all over and I didn't look overstuffed. Don't worry, listen to your doctor. But please try to breastfeed. I lost all the weight within 5 weeks because of it. and it's the best for the baby! Good Luck!!

Aw, woman it's ok. Some women are bigger and some are smaller during pregnancy. You're doc isn't going to tell you wrong. He sees probably 20 to 30 preggo women a day. RELAX-RELATE-RELEASE!
