How do I go back to using windows media player which I prefer?

quicktime will always take over file assosiations without asking you to do so. just open the player you want to use and change back the file assosiations back in that one

Right click on a movie file, select properties. Where is says open with... click on it and select Windows Media Player. Then click on ok. It should make it default for all files. Hope it helps.

Check what your default media player is. Then if changed, set it back to media player.
