I will assume that you are currently in the US.

While US law is based on English common law, there are tremendous differences between the two. One studies American law in a US law school, and then, after completing the degree, one must attempt to pass a state bar exam in order to acquire certification to practice law in a specific state. A US law degree does NOT qualify one to practice law in any other country.

Also, a law degree generally takes three years to complete. Assuming you would apply to law schools now, and begin the program in fall of 2007, it sounds like you would be moving to England after completing only one year.

By "management school" I assume you mean that you desire to pursue an MBA. That is a two year program. Again, assuming that you would apply now and enroll in fall of 2007, you would be moving to England right after completing only one year.

The skills learned in business school are more transferable from one country to another. If you and your husband will be in England for more than two years, you may want to consider waiting to apply to management school until you are in England, and study there. But that is just a suggestion. Only you can decide what is best for you.
