I did a backup of my HD to an external HD and can not find my info/user name that was password protected?

Not knowing exactly how you did the backup, I can only make a couple guesses...

If the account you used when making the backup did not have rights to access that user name, it would not have copied the files.

Have you checked to see if they might have somehow copied as "hidden" files? (Open My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View Tab > Check the "Show hidden files and folders"

Make sure the account you are currently using to look for the files is an administrator. Or it may not be able to see the files.
